The Computer Based Test (CBT) is scheduled to commence from April 2026 in multiple phases. ⚠️ Important Exam Day Instruction

Biometric Verification: Original Aadhar Card is mandatory. Candidates must bring their original Aadhar Card for identity verification at the exam center. Photocopies or E-Aadhar on mobile will NOT be accepted.

 

RRC Group D 2026: Detailed Exam Pattern

The examination will be a Computer Based Test (CBT). It is essential to understand the marking scheme to score well. There is a negative marking of 1/3 mark for every wrong answer.

Subject Wise Detailed Syllabus

Prepare these topics to secure your seat in Indian Railways.

1. Mathematics

Number System, BODMAS, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportion, Percentages, Mensuration, Time and Work, Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics, Square Root, Age Calculations, Calendar & Clock, Pipes & Cistern.

2. General Intelligence & Reasoning

Analogies, Alphabetical and Number Series, Coding and Decoding, Mathematical Operations, Relationships, Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagram, Data Interpretation and Sufficiency, Conclusions and Decision making, Similarities and Differences, Analytical Reasoning, Classification, Directions, Statement – Arguments and Assumptions.

3. General Science

The syllabus under this shall cover Physics, Chemistry and Life Sciences of 10th standard level (CBSE). Focus on Laws of Motion, Work Energy Power, Periodic Table, Chemical Reactions, Human Body Systems, etc.

4. General Awareness

Current affairs in Science & Technology, Sports, Culture, Personalities, Economics, Politics and any other subject of importance.

 

Physical Efficiency Test (PET) Rules

Candidates qualifying in CBT will have to pass the PET. It is qualifying in nature.

  • Male Candidates: Lift 35kg weight and carry 100m in 2 minutes + Run 1000m in 4 min 15 sec.
  • Female Candidates: Lift 20kg weight and carry 100m in 2 minutes + Run 1000m in 5 min 40 sec.

 

Important Guidelines for Exam Day

  • Banned Items: Mobile phones, pagers, watches, Bluetooth enabled devices, calculators, metallic wears, bangles, belts, bracelets, books, papers, etc. are strictly prohibited.
  • Dress Code: Candidates should wear comfortable clothes. Shoes with thick soles and garments with large buttons are generally not permitted. Open sandals or slippers are recommended.
  • Reporting Time: Reach the center at least 1 hour before the gate closing time mentioned in your Admit Card.
  • Self Declaration: Fill the paragraph on the Admit Card in your own handwriting in the presence of the invigilator only.
